She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Burtness and Tonetta Burtness (Brattlie); and her husband Bernard Hughey Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Smith (Paul) of Belleville, MI, David Hughey (Joyce) of New Boston, MI and Bernard Hughey III of Belleville, MI; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Ron Mann), David Jr. (Jenny), Blake (Lei) and Stephanie; her great grandchildren, Daniel, Ella, Ronnie, Robbie, David III, Leon, Amelya and Luna; and her pet Leia. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews and friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (417 Charles St, Belleville, MI 48111). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
