She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward "Ed" Deacons and Emaline Deacons (Courter); her son Johnny Hicks; and her siblings, Yvonne Ottansman, Buddy Deacons, Kerry Deacons, John Elmer Deacons and Edwin Stark.

She is survived by: her husband Talmage Hicks; her daughter Rhonda Summerville; her daughter-in-law Lynda Hicks-Parson; her grandchildren, Travis Matts, Zachary Summerville (Amanda), Emaline Hicks, Jonah Hicks and Wyatt Summerville; her sister Sharon Jenkins; her nieces, Jaydee Fleshman and Tina Stark; and her pets, Pedro, Lily, Penny, Fergus, Finley, Milo, Star and Hutch. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
