He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Sala and Emma Sala (Chizmar); and his brothers, Eugene and Edward Sala. He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Sala of Ypsilanti, MI; his children, Elliot Sala Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI and Kristine Atwood (David) of Ypsilanti, MI; his grandchildren, Sarah of Ypsilanti, MI and Jeffrey of Ypsilanti, MI; his brother David Sala of Canton, MI; and his cousin Joannie of Sumpter Township, MI. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
