He is survived by: his wife Lois Bachman of Belleville, MI; his children, Deanna Dau (David) of Belleville, MI, Julie Maxwell (Kevin) of Belleville, MI, Michelle Martinez (Marcos) of Belleville, MI and Jerry Bachman of Belleville, MI; his grandchildren, Jonathan Dau (Loni) of Romulus, MI, Aaron Dau (Elizabeth) of Toledo, OH, Cory Collins (Joslyn) of Belleville, MI, Miranda Martinez of Dearborn, MI, Matthew Martinez of Dearborn, MI, Ethan Bethke of Pontiac, MI, Cameron Bethke, U. S. Navy Deployed, Alex Collins (Amaya) of Willis, MI, Allyson Bachman of Burton, MI, Joseph Maxwell of Belleville, MI, Evan Bachman of Belleville, MI and Madison Bachman of Waterford, MI; his siblings, James Bachman (Julie) of Kansas, Margaret Swaffer (James) of Clarklake, MI, Barbara Tompkins of Belleville, MI and Daniel Bachman (Debbie) of Tombstone, AZ; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Gavin Collins, Harper, Abigail and Lydia Dau. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bethany Bible Church (810 E Huron River Dr, Belleville, MI 48111). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (17840 Middlebelt Rd, Livonia, MI 48152).
If desired in lieu of flowers donations to the church that Gerald loved and supported or Residential Hospice that cared for him so well would be appreciated and envelopes will be available at the visitation.
