He was predeceased by: his parents, James Southward and Amye Southward (Taylor); his sister Shirley (Hudge); his stepdaughter Robin Browder (Mike); and his stepchildren-in-law, Keith Nichols and Doreen Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Southward (Peterson); his daughters, Melody Jill Hackett (Jeff), Elizabeth Nikas and Kirsten Lee Bartholomew (Brad); his grandchildren, Lauren Kettler (Ashley), Melissa Hackett, Philip Hackett (Kristie) and James Thomas Hackett; his great grandchildren, Mason, Cadence and Jeremy Kettler; his sister Nita Gilpin of Poplarville, MS; his nieces, Amanda Gilpin of Arkansas and Theresa Ann of Michigan; and his stepchildren, William Peterson (Evelyn), Julie Nichols (Keith), Daniel (Kathy), Paul (Donna), John (Doreen), Lisa Taylor (Mike) and Aaron Peterson (Jessica). He is also survived by children, there are sixty grandkids.
