He is survived by: his parents, Nowanna McWhirter (Clem) and Richard Garland McWhirter, Sr.; his wife Jodi McWhirter; his children, Kaitlynn, Ricky and Jacob McWhirter; his brothers, Steve Carpenter and Kris McWhirter; and his mother-in-law Debbie. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-laws, as well as his nieces and nephews.
