He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Kaufmann and Louise Kaufmann (Phillips); and his son Stephan Kaufmann. He is survived by : his wife Sabine Kaufmann (Kipp); his sons, Jon Kaufmann Jr. (Wendy) and Robert Kaufmann Sr. (Holly); his grandsons, Kurt Lee Kaufmann, Robert "Bobby" Kaufmann Jr. and Charles Paul Kaufmann; his brothers, Albert Kaufmann Jr. (Linda) and Michael Kaufmann (Priscilla); his nieces, Michelle Gostomski (Ted), Kelly Matsubara (Shingo) and Kathryn Lerner (Jordan); and his cousin Verna Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Ann Catholic Church or Oaklawn Hospice.
