Susan Hewitt Obituary
Susan Marie Hewitt, 57, of Bellevue, MI passed away on October 28, 2020. Susan was born on December 22, 1962 in Battle Creek, MI to parents David Lee and Dorothy June Kimerer Hewitt. She was a 1981 graduate of Bellevue High School, where she was class Valedictorian. She attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and played the saxophone in the Bellevue High School Band.
She was awarded the John Phillips-Souza Award, while playing in the high school band. She attended Michigan State University studying Emergency Medicine. She worked for many years in nursing and was a BSN. She worked at Community Hospital in Battle Creek and then Battle Creek Health Systems. She then went to work at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, where she was Head Nurse.
Susan is survived by siblings, David Hewitt, Carol Hewitt, William "Ed" (Carrie) Hewitt; four nephews and three nieces; sixteen great nieces and great nephews; her boyfriend, Robert D. Parker; her best friend, Mark Haver; and many close friends that she considered as part of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents David Hewitt and Dorothy Hewitt; her sister, Sheryl Hewitt; and her nephew, Zachary Hewitt.
She will also be greatly missed by her poodle, Maura Jean. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 205 N Elizabeth Ave, Bellevue, MI 49021. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of the service on Thursday. Reverend Donald Francis will officiate the service. **Due to Covid-19 there will be a limit of 50 attendees.
