It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Dennis Swartz of Bellevue, Michigan, who passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Roy Swartz (Bill) and Charlotte Ann Swartz (Love). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Bernheisel; his daughters, Shannon Bass (Tony) of Bellevue and Michelle Pennington (Doug) of Bellevue; his stepchildren, Anne Swanson (John) of Portland, OR and Chris Pillars of Vicksburg; his sisters, Marjorie Coy of Bellevue and Pat Dowding (Mary) of Battle Creek; his brother-in-law Jim Treat of Bellevue; his grandchildren, MaKenna Pillars, Kyle Colwell, Kayden, Karley Bass and Willow Pennington; and his great grandchildren, Loreli and Mallori Colwell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Masonic Home in Alma, 1200 Wright Ave. Alma, MI 48801.
