He is survived by: his wife Kathy (Kathy); his children, Amy Nichols Peplinski (Chuck Mead), Laurie Maner (Dan), Dr. Michael Nichols (Janel) and Thomas Nichols (Jessica); his grandchildren, Joel, Sydney, Lily, Isaac, Michael, Ryan and Brooklynn; and his siblings, Frederick Nichols, Robert Nichols, Patricia Phenix and Barbara Chase.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pederson Funeral Home (127 N Monroe St, Rockford, MI 49341). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church (6390 Belmont Ave NE, Belmont, MI 49306).
