He was predeceased by : his parents, John Nauta and Gertrude Nauta (Boomstra); his wife Catherine; and his siblings, John and Helen.

He is survived by : his children, Donald King (Beverly) and Tracie Witteveen (Curtis); and his grandchildren, Dawn Noakes, Darcie King, Donna Simko (Charlie), Heather TenHarmsel (Taylor), Dustin King (Jocelyne) and Alexandria King. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
