She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Slooten and Sarah Van Slooten; her son J. Stuart VanLiew; and her siblings, Mary DeVree, June Wyngarden, Bonnie Elzinga and Doug VanSlooten.

She is survived by: her son Bob; her daughter-in-law Julia VanLiew; her grandson Rob VanLiew; her great grandchildren, Jax Quinn and Boone Stu VanLiew; and her sister Polli Stroven. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; many dear friends.
