Martha E. O'Hare Obituary

Martha E. O'Hare, loving, mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away on July 24, 2026, in Bentley, Michigan, at the age of 99.

She was born on December 30, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Charles and Martha (Wolfe) Cole. Martha lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many simple joys that brought her happiness. She carried herself with warmth, grace, and quiet strength, and those who knew her will remember her as a loving, generous, and selfless woman whose presence made life brighter for everyone around her.

On November 24, 1945, Martha married the love of her life, Roy O'Hare, in East Pointe, Michigan. Their marriage was a lasting partnership built on love, commitment, and shared devotion through the years. Roy preceded her in death in 2013. Together, they built a family that remained the center of Martha's world throughout her life. She was a proud and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she treasured every moment spent with the generations that followed.

Martha is survived by her loving sons, Mike and his wife Sandy, Keith and his wife Marlene, and Tim O'Hare. She was blessed with 18 adored grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great pride and joy. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory and hold dear the many ways she touched their lives. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy, as well as her sons Kenny and Dennis O'Hare and a grandson Kenny OHare and her six siblings.

Martha was a lifetime member of Rhodes Missionary Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. Her membership reflected her steadfast spirit and the values she carried with her each day. She lived with a deep sense of kindness and humility, and her life was a testament to the importance of family, faith, and community. She was the kind of person who gave of herself freely and found joy in caring for others.

In her younger years and throughout her life, Martha found pleasure in gardening and tending to her flower gardens. She took great pride in the beauty she created and enjoyed the peaceful time spent outdoors. She also loved bowling and always appreciated good conversations with her neighbors. These simple pleasures were made even more meaningful by the people she shared them with. Most of all, Martha loved spending time with her family, especially her adored grandchildren, who were the light of her life and the source of many cherished memories.
