Gus Herbert Achterberg Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gus Herbert Achterberg of Benton Harbor, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 20, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Herb Achterberg and Alice Achterberg of Benton Harbor, Michigan.; his sister Joy Achterberg Bunkowske; and his brother-in-law Bruce Fisher. He is survived by: his wife Juanita Ann Fisher Achterberg; his children, Julie Corbett (Jon) and Paul Achterberg (Sandra); his grandchildren, Sienna, Keith and Mason; his brother Bob Achterberg (Nancy); and his siblings-in-law, Larry Bunkowske, Dennis Fisher and Barbara Fisher. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family.
