She was predeceased by: her husband John E. Meeks; her sons, Wendell, Bernard, Dwight and Gregory Meeks; and her parents, Earnest Hester and Estella Hester.
She is survived by: her close friend Earnest Hester Jr.; her children, John Meeks (Belinda), Donnie Meeks (Barbara), Cora "Jenny Meeks" Robinson and Michelle Scales (Clift); and her siblings, Gloria Shurn (Roy), Doris Cooper (Frank), Russell Hester, Earnest, Alfred Hester and Lula Mae Rolfe. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
