He was predeceased by: his mothers, Mildred Evans (Red) and Dorothy Evans; his sister Peggy Troutman; and his grandparents, Eli and Elsie Johnson.
He is survived by: his significant other Freda; and his children, Tim Evans (Donna), Chasity Evans (Greensboro), John Brandal Evans (Benton Harbor), Destiny (Derek), Burton (Benton Harbor), Omah Shabazz (Grand Rapids) and Roslyn Shabazz (Grand Rapids). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
