She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Briggs and Laura Briggs. She is survived by: her husband Edward Kirby; her sons, Kelvin Briggs, Dale Kirby, Douglas Kirby, Duncan Kirby and Samuel Kirby; her sister Hazel Cole; her grandchildren, Michael Kirby, Alecia Howard, Felicia Howard, Nathan Kirby, Deontae Kirby and Deshon Kirby; her goddaughter Tina Bowman; her close friend James Green; her daughter Gale Kirby; her grandson Michael Rivas; and her siblings, Robert McVay, Bernice Kemp and Dorothy Johnson. She is also survived by Her Extended Family: More than 20 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, alongside a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Greater Community Christian Fellowship (870 Nate Wells Sr Dr, Benton Harbor, MI 49022).
