He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Smith and Elizabeth Smith; his sister Vicki Lorenz; and his brother-in-law Paul Lorenz. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Smith; his son Richard "Rick" Smith; his daughter-in-law Janell Smith; his brother Gregory Smith; his sister-in-law Linda Smith; his niece Mindy TerHaar; his son-in-law Todd TerHaar; his grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Lindsay Eberhart, Nicholas Eberhart, Ryan TerHaar, Andrew TerHaar and Rylee TerHaar; and his great grandchild Hudson Eberhart.
