He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Putney and Mildred Putney (Drier); his wife Ruth Evans; his siblings, Kenneth, Jackson, David, Dickson, Robert and Jennie; his siblings-in-law, Mary and Ed; and his daughter-in-law Marianne.
He is survived by: his sons, Marshall, Jr. of Benzonia and Jonathan (Judith) of Beulah; his siblings, Jacquelyn, Franklin (Bonnie) and Judith Cridler (Steve); and his sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Elaine. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren.
