She was predeceased by: her parents, Gennevieve Bixby and Carl Bixby; her husband George Shafer; her brothers, Daniel Bixby and Paul Bixby; and her nephew Eric Todd Bixby.
She is survived by: her friend George; her children, Gregg Shafer (Carol) of Fayetteville, Tenn., Michael Shafer (Tami) of Buchanan and Tami Brand (Rusty) of Grand Rapids; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Amanda (Joseph), Ryan, Jessica (J. J.), Brandan (Madison), Colin (Marissa), Joshua (Lindsay) and Tyler; her great grandchildren, Keegan, Avery, Theodore and Emmy; her brother Carl Bixby (Karen); and her nibling Lazarus. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
