He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Truog and Alvina Truog (Asmus); and his siblings-in-law, Laurie Carroll, Kim Paul, Tom Meyers, Dick Bennigson and Larry Collins.
He is survived by: his wife Sue; his children, Jeremy Truog (Sara), Nathan Truog (Sacha) and Rebekah Truog; his grandchildren, Trinity, Riley, Maya, Draven and Alexander; his siblings, Steve Truog (Katie), Brian Truog (Shirley), Gloria Marohl, Jean Hausmann and Brenda Meyers; his siblings-in-law, Mary Collins, Beth Carroll, Roger Carroll (Tammy) and Doug Carroll (Kathy); and his close friend Kaide Boyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church (408 W Bellevue St, Big Rapids, MI 49307). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David's name may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran School.
