She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Pochel and Eleanor Pochel (Keranen); her husband George Nicolas; and her son George Jr. (Nick). She is survived by: her children, Gary Nicolas (Kym) of Big Rapids, Greg Nicolas of Big Rapids, Nancy Hisem of Big Rapids, Jim Nicolas (Vanessa) of Grant, MI and Jeff Nicolas (Heather) of Castle Rock, CO; and her daughter-in-law Linda Nicolas of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Campus Parish (1 Damascus Rd, Big Rapids, MI 49307). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to Big Rapids Community Library (Friends of the library group) or Manna Pantry.
