James H. Carter Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James H. Carter of Big Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on January 6, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sherman and Flossie Carter (Morton); and his sister Carol. He is survived by: his wife Ramona Carter; his children, Vincent E. Carter (Teresa), Jason S. Carter and Cynthia M. Huang (Jian); his grandchildren, Valorie (Matt), Zachary (Kathryn), Xinmei, Jingwen and Yiming; his great grandchildren, Harrison, Clara, Peter, Charlotte, Evangeline, Jackson, Boone and Cyrus; his sister Vicky Hurley; and his aunt Jo Morton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors Scholarship Fund.
