He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Stephens and Agnes Stephens (Giltrop); and his aunts and uncles, Henry Giltrop (Josephine), George Giltrop (Lillian), Patrick Giltrop, Michael Giltrop, John Giltrop, Walter Scheffler, Myrtle Spensberg (George) and Catherine Ruggles (Clarence).

He is survived by: his children, Adam Stephens (MiKayla), Joshua Stephens and Jo Anna Goss (Justin); his granddaughter Evelyn Stephens; his sister Patricia Wesener; his aunts, Helen Scheffler, Delores McDonald, Nancy Giltrop, Helen Giltrop and Paulette Giltrop; his nephews, Mark Wesener and Matthew Wesener; his cousins, Michael Bryce, Rocky Scheffler and Jim Scheffler; and his friends, Johnny Scheffler and Al Schott.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Homes - Birch Run Chapel (8116 Main St, Birch Run, MI 48415). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Legion Post #125 of Birch Run.
