She was predeceased by: her parents, Shirley Gillespie and John "Jack" Gillespie. She is survived by: her husband Richard; her children, Ryan Black (Sarah) and Julie Kral (Justin); her grandchildren, Will, Emma, Nora, Neil, Brady and Rees; and her siblings, Marty Gillespie, Mig Young (Dave) and Matt Gillespie.

Due to COVID restrictions and Carol's overwhelming number of friends, in-person attendance at the Funeral Mass is not open to the public.
