He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ray; his children, Heather Creamean (Daniel), Kyle Pettipher and Holly Richmond (Brian); his grandchildren, Charlie, Alex, John Creamean, Carter and Camryn Richmond; his brother John Pettipher (Carol); and his devoted dachshunds, Maeve and Quinn.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Michigan Humane Society in David's memory, honoring his lifelong love of animals.
