He is survived by: his sister Gail Fairbanks; his wife Judith Knudsen; and his children, Marguerite Krajacic, Melissa of Koning, Mary Beth Christie (MB) and Scott Christie. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, or to Hobart College in Geneva, New York.
