It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Susan Herkowitz of Birmingham, Michigan, who passed away on December 20, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her son Harry Herkowitz (late Janis); her grandchildren, Seth Herkowitz (Laura) and Rachael Herkowitz (Michael O'Toole); and her great grandchildren, Samarah Harlow Herkowitz, Schoen Harrison Herkowitz and Jack Harry O'Toole.

“My Aunt Susan: devoted to her son and her grandchildren. It was a blessing to know her and her mother, Mrs. Lenzner, both outspoken Holocaust survivors. Both dear to me. She was a woman before her time, who loved dancing and was an avid dancer. She was a role model. An independent woman who, to the greatest extent possible, directed her own life. She was glad to have been the guest of Austria with other Holocaust survivors. Charming, funny, smart, courageous, loving and well loved. Missed”
