In the sacred silence of farewell, Lester is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Lester's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his son Phil (Shannon Heyboer); his great grandchildren, David and Savannah Heyboer (Kyleigh); his grandchildren, Rachel and Joe Schiefla; and his sisters, Renee Olthouse (Bruce), Roxanne Charles (Dan) and Darlene Spaanstra (Bruce). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Stroo Funeral Home (1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, American Cancer Society or Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
