He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Vallad and Evelyn Vallad (Pines); his brother William Vallad; his son Michael Vallad; and his grandson Terrance Edington.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Vallad (Nagy); his children, Colleen Vallad-Hix (Michael Nord), Kimberly Gregus (William), Susan Roberts and Bradford Watson (Jennifer); his sisters, Marilynn Partin, Sandra Williams, Jaquelynn Urbaniak and Dianne Bojesen (Bert); and his grandchildren, William Edington (Amber), Robert Hix II (Taliah Glidewell), Jessica Hix (Matt Cook) and Jeremy Hix. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St Helena's Episcopal Church, The Nature Conservancy or a non-profit organization of your choice in remembrance.
