He was predeceased by: his parents, Elgin Marshall and Katherine Marshall (Schmidt); his great-grandparent Michael Schmidt; his grandfather Edward Schmidt; and his brother William Elgin (Nancy).
He is survived by: his sister Katherine Christine; his daughters, Julie Garcia (Ed) of Bloomfield Hills and Karen Wischmeyer (Brian) of Bloomfield Hills; his grandchildren, Ethan, Tess, Hope Garcia, John (Jack), Mark and Luke Wischmeyer; and his sister K. Christine Kurtz of Traverse City.
