He was predeceased by: his mother Evangelia Kontogouris; his wife Argyro Talanges; and his siblings, Gerasimos, Costas, Socrates and Maria Trontis.

He is survived by: his father Thrasivoulos Kontogouris; his daughters, Eva, Sophia and Dionissia Sinning (Rick); his grandsons, Nicholas King, Marshall Marcero and Stephen Brooks (Lori); his great grandchild Marcus James Brooks; and his niece Eleftheria Trontis. He is also survived by nieces, grandnieces, nephews, grandnephews and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
