He was predeceased by: his parents, Joan Elizabeth Sims (Bennett) and Larry R. Sims. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Lee Sims of Boyne City; his children, Shawn Sims (Nicolette Bishop) of Texas, Chad Callahan (Robin) of Virginia, Justin Callahan (Carly) of Muskegon and Jared; his grandchildren, Leanna, Kadence, Navi, London, Stephanie, Cecily, Sarah, Josh, Grayson, JoJo, Adam and Nev; and his siblings, Lyn Sims-Nielsen (Daniel) of Traverse City, Jon Sims of Advance, Lorraine Sims of Advance and Melanie Sims of Advance.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be directed to the Boyne City Public Schools to go to kids' needs.
