He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard D. Thayer and Leona M. Thayer (Nelson); his wife Marilyn Robinson Thayer; his in-laws, Hudson and Loraine Robinson; his siblings, Bill Thayer (Esme), Charlotte White, Lois Langtry (Dick), Jane Allen (Leroy), Audrey Scott (Art), Robert Thayer, Irv Thayer (Onalee), Phyllis Hardy (Elwood), Richard Thayer and Pat Snedeker (Chuck); and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Thayer and James Burns.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kay Shelton (Charlie), Tammy Fettig (Scott) and Heather Heckman (Scott); his grandchildren, Erika Lewis (Mike), Douglas Fettig, Kortney Heckman (Michael Merrill), Nicole Heckman (Keaton Walker), Missie Ousley (Shawn) and Brian Shelton (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Keenan, Emma, Olivia, Elijah, Elle, Emilea, Everleigh, Gabe Lewis and Megan Lewis; his great great grandchildren, Henleigh, Madi, Gehrig and Eden; his brother Charlie Thayer; his siblings-in-law, Sonia Burns, Mary Thayer and Hudson Robinson (Patricia); his nephews, Woody Hardy (Penny), Tom Thayer and Lindsey Thayer; and his close friends, Dale May, Farmer Tom Pustell, Sally Swanson, Patrick Hrenko (Savannah) and Russell Richards. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
