He was predeceased by: his parents, Metro Skop and Helen Skop; and his siblings, Wanda Cremeans, Genevieve Talboys and Carl Skop.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Bachman of Boyne City; his children, Judy Phillips (Rod), Susan Denise (Fred), Dave Skop (Ruth), Mike Skop (Kathy), Mark Skop and Lori Herrington (Doug); his grandchildren, David Phillips (Cathy), Michael Phillips (Lindsey), Jeff Denise (Michelle), Trisha Lockman (Kyle), Michelle Cosier, Melissa Cross (Neal), Sarah Harju (Matt), Matthew Skop (Whitney), Kory Skop, Madison Skop, Shae Skop, Maris Herrington (Nicholas Thomas) and Lindsey Bell (Mike); and his sister Veronica Matelski. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that donations be made in his memory to Charlevoix Area Humane Society or Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
