He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Welch and Edith Welch (Anderson); his in-laws, Waley and Rose Garcia; his siblings, Thomas Welch and Dolores Stendel; his brother-in-law Milton "Mick" Stendel; his sister Nancy Kaskinen; his brother-in-law Arlie "Mike" Kaskinen; and his granddaughter Erica Mills.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Rybicki (Garcia); and his children, Kyrja Withers (Randy), John Welch (Helen), Robert Welch (Linda) and Rachael Burton. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the family may be directed to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Manistee to offset service costs and provide for a memorial.
