He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Himmelein (Beatrice) and Arlene Himmelein (Guiette); his grandmother Hannu (Pia Niva); and his siblings, Madelyn Zokoe and Robie Himmelein.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Himmelein; his children, Annette Shepherd (Mark), Melvin Himmelein II (Lori Clark), Tina Himmelein and Patrick Coenen of Belgium; his grandchildren, Meghan Shepherd, Jared "Bubba" Shepherd, Logan Himmelein (Sommer), Kendra Dean, Joaquin Coenen, Urho, Hilja Hiltunin, Mathias, Oskari and Ava Niva; his great grandchild Layla Himmelein; and his siblings, Keith Himmelein (Bette), Marvin Himmelein (Carol), Barbara Himmelein, Lori Himmelein, Matt Ticar (Edna) and Lisa Salvi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
