He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ackerman and Frieda Ackerman (Markwart); his former wife Bonnie Vette; his son Nathan Ackerman; and his sister Carol Copeland.
He is survived by: his children, Claire Schupbach (Jerry), David Ackerman (Lauren) and Andrew Ackerman (Kendra); his daughter-in-law Mitzi Ackerman; his grandchildren, Dawn Johnson (Jeff), Bradley Schupbach (Jennie), Anders, Katrinca and Sydney Ackerman; his great grandchildren, Ilona, George Schupbach, Noah and Jaron Johnson; and his brothers, Ronald Ackerman (Judy) and Leon Klint.
