He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Cassar; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Smith (Marrow); and his parents, Michael Cassar and Charlotte Cassar (Kippe). He is survived by: his children, Daniel Cassar (Kathy), David Cassar (Patricia), Debbie LeFebvre (Bob) and Clara Bentley; and his brother-in-law William Marrow. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 3 nephews; 1 niece; 1 great-great nephew.
