Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He is survived by: his children, James Martiny Jr. (Holly), Kathy Martiny, Tom Carpenter, Shelly Downes (Jeff), Tim Carpenter Sr. (Mary) and Terry Carpenter; and his brother Robert Martiny of Florida.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Borek Jennings Funeral Homes (7425 M-36, Brighton, MI 48139). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (9565 Musch Rd, Brighton, MI 48116).
The family requests that charitable contributions be made to PBS and any flowers be sent directly to Borek Jennings in Hamburg.
