He is survived by : his father Orville Carter; his siblings, LuAnn Siira (Daryl) and Larry Carter (Cindy); his stepchildren, Nick Lafehr, Amanda Lafehr and Steve Lafehr; and his nieces and nephews, Joshua Oestreich (Ashley), Ricky Oestreich, Eddie Carter, Amanda Ortiz (Nick) and Maryanne Rathbun (Jay). He is also survived by his family and friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Putnam Township Fire Department.
