He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Schnatz and Edith Schnatz; his wife Diane Seitz Schnatz; and his brother J. David Schnatz (Carolyn). He is survived by: his significant other Elizabeth Brough (Libby); his children, Adam Schnatz (Amanda), Eric Schnatz and Alyson Robertson (Brad); his grandchildren, Nelson Grossman (Jessica), Cody Schnatz (Leah), Sierra Dwyer (Bryson), Ethan Schnatz, Emily Lenz (Rob), Rachel Neubert (Loren) and Kalie Fowler; his great grandchildren, Sophia Grossman, Ezra Grossman, Violet Schnatz, Harrison Dwyer and Adelaide Lenz; and his former wife Rose Kowalski. He is also survived by family members, colleagues, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nichols School, Princeton University, the University of Buffalo, or the Temagami Lakes Association—institutions pivotal in shaping Dr. Schnatz's life and to which he gave generously.
