Lois Joan left this world on July 27, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Jack" DeMerse and Thelma DeMerse (Parish); her husband Claude Swendsen (Dick); her sister Maxine Clow; her parents-in-law, Birger and Virginia Swendsen (Rice); her in-laws, Robert and Dolores Berry; her brothers-in-law, Earl Clow and John Schwiderson; and her son-in-law Ward Kennedy.
She is survived by: her children, Denice Kennedy of Brimley, Keith Swendsen (Mary) of Brimley and Bill Swendsen (Mary) of Brooklyn, Michigan; her grandchildren, Melissa Case (Nate), Mikaela Swendsen, Keith Swendsen (Randilynn), Darick Bowen (Ashley), Amber Swendsen and Krystal Pirone (Robert); her great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hannah, Sadie, Trey, Kade, Diem, Alexis, Gavin, Taylor, Paige and Ruthie; her sister Shirley Schwiderson; her sister-in-law Jean Bach; and her nephew Richard Clow. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mission Hill Cemetery (14740 W Lakeshore Dr, Brimley, MI 49715). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bay Mills Township Hall (14740 W Lakeshore Dr, Brimley, MI 49715).
