He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Kassel and Florence Kassel (Gutzke); his wife Roxanne; and his siblings, Raymond Kassel (Judy), Robert Kassel (Maryann), Donald Kassel (Gladys), Richard Kassel (Alexa), Dorothy Spivey (Ralph), Gert Edwards (Richard) and Marlene Kassel.

He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Thompson and Daniel Kassel (Raven); his grandchildren, Tyler, Shaylee, Trae, Malloreigh and Santiago; his great grandchild Dahlia; his brothers-in-law, Dick Starr and Thomas Perhai; and his sister Joan Matties.
