He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Thurman (Morrison); his daughter Crystal; his pet Jack; his parents, Maynard Thurman and Dorothy Thurman; and his siblings, Norman, Wendell, Maxine and Charles Thurman.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lorie Gulick (Irv), Angela Councell (Shawn) and Becky Cole (Paul); his grandchildren, Crystal (Brandon), Karlee (Serenity) and Cheyenne (Chase); and his brothers, Don (Lynn), Dave (Deb) and Jerry (Faye). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
