He was predeceased by: his parents, James Brooks and Marjoria Brooks (Doriell); his siblings, Mary Lou, Jim, Ernestine, Tom and Donna May; and his granddaughter Marissa.

He is survived by: his wife Velma Beverly Nowitzke; his daughters, Connie Schultz (Ed) and Bonnie Kirkpatrick (Kevin); his sisters, Ruth Westgate and Ann Rice; his grandchildren, Justin Kirkpatrick (Cayla), Makaela Cranmore (Jake), Carl Kirkpatrick (Quinn), Johanna Fisher (Bryan) and Alaynna Schultz; and his great grandchildren, June, Josie Kirkpatrick, Nora, Henry Kirkpatrick, Jack Cranmore and Roman Fisher.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.
