William touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Smith and Emily Smith; his son William Smith Jr.; and his grandson Nathan Smith. He is survived by : his wife Grace Smith; his children, Julie Bombard (Roger), Anne Hillman (Ed), Daniel Smith (Shylo), Sam Smith (Marla), Scott Smith, Becky Nagy, Hope Albee (Garrett) and Lisa Mardlin; and his siblings, Eva Nichol, Bernard Smith, Lee Smith, Dorothy Turner, Hazel Howard, Margaret Nichol, Betsy Main, Lenora Welch and James Smith.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hacker Funeral Parlors (1201 Sanilac Rd, Sandusky, MI 48471). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
