She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Zelmer and Mollie Zelmer (Webber); her daughter Amelia Hawkins (Scott); her granddaughter Kristina DeFreez; and her brother Lavon Zelmer.
She is survived by: her husband Ronald Byrum; her children, Michael Byrum (Nancy) and Sandra Best (Craig); her grandchildren, Shannon Byrum, Molly Byrum, Katherine Woods (Jermaine), Ronald DeFreez, Richard DeFreez, Carrissa Hawkins and Brandon Hawkins; her sister Barbara Norton; and her sister-in-law Virginia Dempsey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
