She was predeceased by: her parents, Wyman Batchelor and Marjorie Batchelor (Phillips); her husband Eugene Aalfs; her daughter Betty Lou Chapman; and her siblings, Betty Ashton, Joyce Polega, George Batchelor, Mary Heiney, Charlotte Burkett, Dennis Batchelor, James Batchelor and Eileen Vite.

She is survived by: her children, Brenda Klingerman (Stephen), Ronald Aalfs and Karen Worvey (Orville); her son-in-law Bruce Chapman; her grandchildren, Eric, Stephanie Chapman, Melissa Stines-VanCourt, Christopher Klingerman (Athena), Allison Klingerman, Aaron Aalfs (Carrie), Naomi Monroe (Brian), Chad Worvey (Jennifer) and Jennifer DeWulf (Joshua); her great grandchildren, Caleb, Tyler, Jacob, Matthew Stines-VanCourt, Cohen, Cameron Klingerman, Ronan, Reagan McKie, Chloe, Hudson Aalfs, Connor Worvey, Caden and Christian DeWulf; her great great grandchild Caspien Cyphert; and her sister Kathleen "Kay" Swank. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Swem Chapel (301 W Front St, Buchanan, MI 49107). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Buchanan First United Methodist Church (132 S Oak St, Buchanan, MI 49107).

Memorial contributions in Margaret's name may be made to Buchanan First United Methodist Church.
