Ronald Leroy Byrum Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Leroy Byrum of Buchanan, Michigan, who passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Byrum and Estella Byrum (Plumley); his daughter Amelia Hawkins (Scott); his granddaughter Kristina DeFreez; his brother Darryl Byrum; and his brother-in-law Lavon Zelmer.
He is survived by: his wife June R. Zelmer; his children, Michael Byrum (Nancy) and Sandra Best (Craig); his grandchildren, Shannon Byrum, Molly Byrum, Katherine Woods (Jermaine), Ronald DeFreez, Richard DeFreez, Carissa Hawkins and Brandon Hawkins; his great grandchildren, Jaxson and Julia; his sister Virginia Dempsey (Frank); and his sister-in-law Barbara Norton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church - Buchanan (212 W Front St, Buchanan, MI 49107). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (212 W Front St, Buchanan, MI 49107).
